At the end of this course the students will be well known of the following: 1- Offering the students strong background in Corrosion Science and its practical applications in industry. 2- Introductive basic principles of the Corrosion, Cost of Corrosion, Definition of corrosion, Corrosion damage and its Classifications 3- Studying the Principals of Electrochemical reactions. 4- Identification the mechanism of Corrosion. 5- Recognition of Corrosion monitoring and detection. 6- Studying the methods for corrosion prevention and control.
Course objectives :
Types of Corrosion and mechanisms, corrosion monitoring and detection, metallurgical aspects of corrosion and material selection, corrosion prevention and control.
Course description :
Class works including drop quizzes, solving assignment problems, 10% practical Works 5% reports & presentations 5% Practical exam 10% Mid Term Written Exam 20% Final Written Exam 50%
