At the end of the course, the students will be able to;

  1. List the various types of fracture and discuss the classic loading patterns.
  2. Discuss the process of fracture healing.
  3. Describe the various types of fracture fixation devices and discuss their benefits and drawbacks.

Course objectives :

Conduction- diffusion- and convection in electrolytes. Equilibrium double layers and electrical forces in physiological systems. Application to physiological systems including membrane/electrolyte and electrode/electrolyte interfaces- interaction of biomaterials with electric fields- electrophoresis and electro-osmosis and electromechanical coupling in coupling in charged structures.
