In the framework of the keenness of the faculty of Pharmacy and Drug Manufacturing to activate the role of community service, the faculty community service and environmental development committee organized a seminar for the representatives of Alexandria Women Association for Charity and Comprehensive Development in order to promote cooperation with them to serve the Alexandrian community. This seminar was held under the auspices Prof. Maged El Ghazouly, the faculty Dean and Dr. Inas Masoud, the Head of the faculty community service committee.
At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Maged El Ghazouly welcomed the guests and introduced them to the faculty members. He also expressed his happiness of this seminar that held with the aim of coming up with and discussing new creative ideas to provide a distinguished community service based on actual studies of the needs of community members. After that, Dr. Inas Masoud showed a short video about the previous activities between the faculty and Alexandria Women Charity Association. Then, discussion was opened about developing cooperation between the faculty and the association in different fields of community service as well as measuring the needs of community members for training courses, seminars, aid convoys and awareness campaigns. This is in addition to organizing educational sessions in needy villages and suburbs of Alexandria, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and with the participation of the graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Drug Manufacturing who are working for the Ministry in order to apply these field projects in the areas in need. Moreover, Dr. Noha Alaa discussed making community-based pilot projects and integrating field trips with visits to nursery houses to maximize the student benefits at both academic and community service levels. On her part, Ms. Samia Mahmoud, the Chairperson of the board of Sama Foundation for Charity and Comprehensive Development and a representative of Alexandria Women Association, gave a synopsis of the activities offered by charities and the role of their members in providing many services to the Alexandrian community.
The discussion ended with making preparations for a visit to a nursing house in cooperation with Sama Foundation for Comprehensive Development at the beginning of December.
At the end of the seminar, the faculty Dean invited the guests to take a tour to inspect the facilities of the faculty where they commended the faculty services and educational facilities provided.
