This course is designed for engineering students to:
• Enhance their abilities in technical writing -as a communication skill.
• Introduce different types and uses of technical documents.
• Give students general guidelines for good engineering writing.
• Know the importance of using appropriate grammar and punctuation, and avoid the most common errors in technical writing.
• Enhance the students’ presentational skills.

Presentation 2: Characteristics and ethics of technical writing: Characteristics of technical writing, Ethical considerations, Senior Managers Comments for How to Write a Good Report
Presentation 3,4,5: General Structure of Technical Reports: The basic structure of a report, Elements of Various Technical Reports, Page design, Technical Editing.
Presentation 6: Common Types of Technical Documents: Progress reports, Inspection reports, Feasibility reports, Research/laboratory reports, Manuals, Proposals, Correspondence. Presentation 7: Memorandum: What is Memorandum, Purpose Of Memo, Purpose Of Memo, Memo Structure, How to Write a Memo .
Presentation 8: Technical Writing Study Guide: Establishing goals, Analyzing the audience,
Presentation 9: Making Effective Presentations: What is a Presentation?, Structuring the presentation, Making Effective Presentations, Tips for Designing Technical Presentations (Do’s and Don’ts ),Conclusions. Presentation 10: Designing Effective PowerPoint Presentations
