EM 252 – Engineering Fluid Mechanics

  • Prof. Dr. Alaa Shibl

Course lecturer :

  • Eng. Mohamed Khaled

Course assistant :

This course is designed to give Mechanical engineering students the ability to apply fluid dynamics in engineering applications.

Course objectives :

This course provides students with principal concepts and methods of fluid mechanics.
Topics covered in the course include pressure, mass conservation and momentum conservation for moving fluids; viscous fluid flows, flow through pipes; dimensional analysis, similarity and model testing. Flow through pipes. Networks of pipes. Pumps.

Course description :

Course will be assessed on the basis of the accomplishments regarding the course objectives and the contributions to the program outcomes. The evaluation will consist mainly of the responses from the students to CDIO. GRADING: Midterm Exam.15% , Lab work 10%, Practical Exam & CDIO 20%, Homework & Assignments 5% and Final (Comprehensive) 50%
