  • Dr. Noha Othman Korany

Course lecturer :

  • Eng . Allaa Hussien
  • Eng. rana salem

Course assistant :

To enable students to: • Provide computer students adequate knowledge and skills on advanced digital system analysis, design, implementation and verification of some MSI components (carry look ahead adder/subtractor, comparator, Decoders, Multiplexers, ROM, PAL, and PLA). • study various MSI circuits, combinational and sequential programmable logic devices such as ROMs, PLAs, PALs, CPLD and FPGAs and the design of application specific integrated circuits (ASCIs) using schematic diagrams and VHDL programming. • Analyze & synthesis of synchronous sequential machines. • Introduces the Asynchronous sequential circuit and its problems (Hazards & Races). • Analyze Digital systems includes Multi-level circuits, MSI, Multiple function minimization of combinational logic and combinational logic structures.

Course objectives :

This courseis concerned with the design and the implementation of digital systems: Multi-level circuits, PLA, function of the basic inverter structure, combinational logic structures, synchronous and asynchronous sequential machines. It presents various medium scale integration (MSI) circuits, combinational and sequential programmable logic devices such as ROMs, PLAs, PALs, CPLD and FPGAs and the design of application specific integrated circuits (ASCIs) using schematic diagram and VHDL . It explores different types of control units.
