Course assistant :

The course aims to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills necessary for the design-related individuals in the field of Architecture. With this overall aim, the course strives to enable students to:
– Gain a working knowledge of simplified definition of architectural Design and improve the student\’s sense of relationship between the human scale and the architectural space, the module, and the relationship between the different stories of a building.
– Examine the ability to design energy efficient buildings and how to deal with site organization.
– Use hand tools for making and setting out the project output
– Apply more innovative Design. – Solve circulation problems.
– Analyze the relationship between the Human scale and the architectural space.
– Connect the different relationship between different spaces and functions of a building.
– Propose the best architectural design solution for a certain project.
– Practice the use of manual skills in the final presentation of any the design project.

Course objectives :

Continuation of development of skills required to investigate and communicate in the design process. Students by the end of the course should understand the architectural drawings and be able to design a small size project of simple type (ex.: residential unit) using module and scale, presenting their work with pencil or pen and ink. Issues of form and space, circulation patterns, geometry, space requirements and structure systems, are explored through studio design exercises, projects and discussions.
