By the end of this course the student must be able to: Know the significance of design of operating suite.
1- Define and discuss basic epidemiologic concept.
2- Know the cause of biological and physical pollution and how to avoid them.
3- Know how to deal with electric equipment and to avoid explosion and fires inside.
4- Know how to disinfect and sterilize different tools and equipment used in anesthesia

Course objectives :

The course contains study of the following topics: Introduction to basic epidemiologic concepts including determinants of health and patterns of disease in populations , measures of morbidity and mortality, sources of data, and design of research studies and clinical trials. Design of the operating suite, biological contamination, physical contamination, Disinfection, sterilization, fires and explosions. Dangers of electricity, precautions during using electrical equipment, regulation of temperature. Illumination, and humidity inside operating rooms and lastly care for anesthetic tools and equipment after use.
